Prickly Puffs

I have a family of three groundhogs living under the shed in my backyard. I like watching them scamper around my yard and gorge themselves in my gardens. My daughter calls them prickly puffs. I call them Pierre, Peony and Precious.

My poodle barks in the direction of their hog haven each time that I let her run around the yard. My nine pound puppy is under the mistaken impression that she is intimidating. I am beginning to worry about her getting bitten, although they seem pretty harmless.

I decided to read a little about groundhogs since I don’t know anything about them. I’ll have to share a few Groundhog 101 facts with my kids at the dinner table this evening.
